 The restaurant historyThe building was constructed in 1680 on the banks of the Sainte-Catherine chanel, and was slated to be destroyed in 1987. It escaped this sad fate due to the love and care that the Italian restorer Antonio Mastrogiovanni brought to its old stones… The façade of the building is built with the traditional “Golden section” and is characterized by its balance. On the ground floor, the architect Claude Van Hee has recreated Tuscan luminosity with walls covered with “Stucco veneziano”, and incoporating additional decoration of frescos come from a monastery and hammered copper coming from an old church. The room of the first floor, with its oak beams and paneling , with a bar out of direct view of the Square, evokes a past filled with history. It is a perfect location for banquets and seminars of all types, accommodating from 20 to 80 people. In this Italian brasserie, you can find a gastronomical meal incorporating contemporary, regional menus or seasonal suggestions reflecting products from the market. Reflecting your own tastes, you can chose pizzas or pastas, all of which are created with originality and emphazing home made specialities rom the freshest produce. |
